Kati Patang

When Rajesh Khanna was shooting in Nainital in 1970, the boots around Naini Lake were moored for 3 days. There were thousands of people thronging the shooting that even the police had a tough time controlling them. Kati Patang was amongst one of the first movies to be shot in Nainital and the film's popularity put the hill station on the tourist map. When Rajesh Khanna returned to Nainital after 33 years to shoot for 'Jaana', old women and collegians alike thronged him again and he was floored by the reception he got.

Khuda Kay Liye

Khuda Kay Liye was theatrically released in Pakistan on July 20, 2007, and grossed over $10 million worldwide. Critical response of the film was generally positive, with some religious conservatives criticizing the film and called for a ban in Pakistan. The first Pakistani film to be released in India and that too with Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah in a pivotal role. Khuda Kay Liye is the second highest grossing film of Pakistan of all time.

Kite Runner, The

The Kite Runner is a 2007 drama film directed by Marc Forster based on the novel of the same name by Khaled Hosseini. The majority of the film's dialogue is in Dari, with the remainder spoken in English. The child actors are native speakers, but several adult actors had to learn Dari. The Afghan government has banned the film from movie theaters and DVD stores because of the rape scene and the ethnic tensions and class struggles that the film highlights.

Kumki

Kumki elephants are trained Indian elephants which are used to guide wild elephants back to the forest to minimize the destruction of properties and fields of nearby villages. Kumki is based on several real-life incidents in which elephants create havoc by killing people or ruining the lands. For the climax portions of this film a two-acre agricultural land was purchased by the producer. Since the elephants will be shown destroying the agricultural lands, it was decided to acquire the land for shooting this scene.

Lagaan

Lagaan was in the final two for the Oscar awards. Aamir Khan had been issued a show-cause notice by authorities in Gujarat for allegedly violating the act by filming the antelopes in Kachchh district without permission. A cricket team in Bhuj "Lagaan XI" was formed. In SurMandir talkies in Bhuj, Aamir had arranged the first show for villagers and local crew. After the Bhuj earthquake, Aamir had decided to adopt a village, Kotai and rehabilitate it.

Lamhaa

Lamhaa was banned in GCC countries i.e. Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and Oman. UAE National Media Council Censorship Board felt that the content of the movie is highly objectionable and controversial. Bipasha Basu abruptly left the shooting of the film in Srinagar as she was afraid of the tense atmosphere in Kashmir and since the crowd gathering had become uncontrollable. She returned only after being given an ultimatum that they would replace her.

Life of Pi

Life of Pi is a biographical adventure novel by Yann Martel published in 2001 that director Ang Lee made into this film. Life of Pi, which won Canadian writer Yann Martel the Man Booker Prize in 2002, has sold nine million copies worldwide, even before it was adapted for a film. Most of the film is shot in Taiwan which is Director Ang Lee's birthplace.
