Synopsis
A subedar (Naseeruddin Shah) commands Sonbai (Smita Patil), a beautiful and confident woman, to sleep with him. She slaps him and flees for safety to a chilli factory. The subedar is out for revenge. The stage is set for a final confrontation.
Did you know?
The film was actually set in a tobacco factory. In Saurashtra, one can see miles and miles of chillies spread across the ground. It is said that in the tribal areas, the tribal women keep these pouches of chilli with them to protect them from any kind of attack.
