The waterfall in Harshil now bears the name "Mandakini Falls" after the famous shooting here. The waterfall is formed by the confluence of the Bhagirathi and the Jalandari rivers in the Bhagirathi Valley. Unfortunately, the waterfall has now almost reduced to a trickle, apparently after a flash flood in the Bhaghirathi area, a few years back.
