Jomsom Airport (IATA: JMO, ICAO: VNJS) is an airport serving Jomsom, a town in the Mustang District of the Dhawalagiri Zone in Nepal. It is known as one of the world's most dangerous airfields and is a particular favourite of flight simulator fans. The airport resides at an elevation of 8,800 feet (2,682 m) above mean sea level. The plane is affectionately known as the Vomit Express. Just 20 mins from Pokhara flying up the highest-deepest valley in the world, sometimes battling winds of 120 Mph (200 km+) as the clouds lift causing a kind of vacuum effect propelling winds from the Tibetan plataux.

Om's Home, a hotel in Jomsom, is an attraction because famous Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan passed his nights in room No. 5 during shooting of the film "Khuda Gawah." According to hotel owner Bishnu Raj Hirachan, Bachchan spent three weeks in the Jomsom area together with actress Sridevi and actor Danny Denzongpa. It is important because the Nepalese hardly ever see famous celebrities from the outside world. Jimi Hendrix Restaurant is also there at Jomsom. Jomsom, the district headquarters of Mustang, is known as the 'Windy Valley'. People from Jomsom claim the famous rock star was in this restaurant in October 1967. The four walls of room No. 6 -- there is also a hotel -- were covered with messages from Hendrix fans. One fan wrote, "Hello Jimi thanks for letting me stay in your room: Johnny." Downstairs, another message said, "If I don't see you in this world, I will see you in the next one, don't be late --Jimi Hendrix, Jomsom, Oct. 67." The room costs 100 Nepali rupees per night. According to hotel owner Sukmaya Thakali, the hotel's other rooms are 50 percent cheaper than the Hendrix room.
