Kau Yi Chau, also known as Tai Kau Yi Chau, is an uninhabited island located west of Victoria Harbour, between Peng Chau and Green Island in Hong Kong. The island is no higher than 120 m (394 ft). A permanent Global Positioning System (GPS) reference station, located on the top of the island, Kau Yi Chau, was established in 1996. The reference station continuously monitors the status of the GPS and broadcast differential correction signals.
