Parsons Valley is located in the famous Mukkurthi Peak and National Park near Ooty. It offers a wonderful experience for trekkers, naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts. Parsons Valley acts as a base camp, from where it is possible to trek to various points in the Western Ghats. 8 km from Parsons Valley is the Kamaraj Sagar Dam hidden behind old trees and green shrubs. It is also called the Sandynallah Reservoir. The waters of the lake here are especially good for trout fishing. This is a small reservoir with a nice view of the rolling hills. This area is now protected by Forest Department, Tourist are not allowed without permission due to environmental concerns in the Parson's Valley. Tourism is allowed on one side of the Dam though.
