Betaab valley is situated in Chandanwari at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam in Anantnag district in India's northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir. The valley got its name from the Sunny Deol-Amrita Singh hit debut film Betaab. Here the meandering Lidder River gushes with water and its glorious waterfalls. The crystal clear & chilly water of the stream bubbling down from the snowy hills is a delight! The native folk here even drink this water. When the Lidder valley widens over a flat land is the place which is now fondly called "Betaab Valley", Chandanwari is the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra. This region looks very similar to European resorts and is a good, idyllic campsite. Located at an altitude of 2530 meters above the sea level, this picturesque valley has all that which can attract you to its beauty.
Betaab Valley is just 5 km from Pahalgam, enroute to the Amarnath Valley, via Chandanwari. b Valley directly .Ponies can be hired from Pahalghaam. Well connected by roadways, you can easily reach here by buses and taxis. Jammu Tawi is the closest railhead to this place. You may then travel by shared taxis, or buses. Sheikh-ul-Alam Airport or more commonly known as the Srinagar Airport is the nearest airport to this place.
