Khem Karan is a small town in Amritsar District, near the border with Pakistan, in Punjab. It is located about 60 km south-west of the district headquarters town, Amritsar and is hardly 5 km from the Indo-Pak border. Baba Sheikh Brahamji's tomb at Mian Wala village is a major attraction, visited by devotees from both sides of the border to pay their respect, during an annual fair held at the end of monsoon season. It is the only place in India where the entry for Pakistani citizens is facilitated without a visa. Baba Sheikh Brahamji's tomb is situated in Mian Wala Village (Tehsil Khemkaran). A big fair is organised towards the end of the monsoons when people from both sides of the border come to pay their respects at the majaar. It is believed that a wish made here is always fulfilled.
Nearest airport is at Amritsar. Khem Karan Railway Station is a terminus station of the rail line from Amritsar.
