Himachal Pradesh is the State known for its scenic and natural beauty located in Northern India. The Institute was founded in 1988 by Kelsang and Kim Yeshi at Sidhpur (near Dharamshala). Bordered by Jammu and Kashmir in the north, Punjab on the West and South West, Haryana and Uttarakhan on the South East and Tibet on the East. Norbulingka, which literally means "The jewelled Park", located in Lahasa, Tibet. Norbulingka Institute is committed to handing down tradition of provividing education, training and employment for the Tibetian Community. The art studio include Tibetian Stone making, screen printing, metal craft, wood painting, wood work and so on.
From New Delhi, Dharamshala is 9 hrs by car, 11 hour ride by bus. One can also take the over-night train to Pathankot followed by a 2.5 car drive or take a 2 hour flight to the Gangra Airport at Gaggal.From Dharamshala or McLeod Gang, Norbulingka is a drive of about 20-30 minutes.
