Synopsis

Shankar (SRK) is mute and also Raja Saab's (Amrish Puri) bonded labourer in his mines. Raja Saab marries Gauri (Madhuri Dixit) by sending her Shankar's picture. Circumstances force Shankar and a devastated Gauri to elope, but both are caught by Raja Saab and his men.
