Amsoldingen is a municipality in the Thun administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The village of Amsoldingen is situated on the banks of Lake Amsoldingen approximately 5 km from Thun. Amsoldingen lies at 644 metres above sea level, with an area of 471 hectares. The community is bordered to the east by the Glütschbach valley and in the west by the Stocken valley. Originally Amsoldingen was a Roman settlement and later a secular foundation for canons and students. The lake is smaller as compared to Thun and has trees around it in the gently hilly surroundings.
