The Monsoon Palace is also called Sajjangarh as it was built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1884, as a monsoon retreat. It is 5 km from Udaipur and overlooks the Fateh Sagar Lake. It is situated at height of 1100 ft (340 m). high above the surrounding areas. It offers a panoramic overview of the city's lakes, palaces and surrounding country side. The palace offers absolute stunning views of the long Aravali mountain ranges from different floors.
